Privacy

Camera Nocta collects nothing about you. The app has no access to the internet, so nothing it holds can leave your phone unless you send it yourself.

What the app can reach

The only permission Camera Nocta asks for is the camera, which it uses to show the viewfinder and take your pictures. It does not ask for internet access, your location, your contacts, your microphone or your other photos. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party code that talks to anyone.

Your pictures

Pictures are saved on your phone, in Pictures/Nocta, and nowhere else. The app shows you only the pictures it took itself.

Each picture carries the usual metadata (EXIF): the phone's make and model, the date and time, the shutter speed, aperture, ISO and lens, and the Nocta recipe (the look and settings it was made with). If you type a name in the Artist row, that name and a copyright line go into each picture too. The app does not record where a picture was taken. The moon on the shutter button is tuned to your time zone, not your location.

Settings

Your settings, including the Artist name, are stored on the phone only. They are not backed up to any cloud, and uninstalling the app removes them.

Clipboard and sharing

The app reads the clipboard only when you tap Paste recipe, to find a recipe in it. It shares a picture only when you tap Share, through Android's share sheet. The picture is sent with its metadata, and from there the app you choose handles it under its own policy.

Google Play

You download Camera Nocta from Google Play, which handles the download under Google's privacy policy. Google gives developers only aggregate statistics, such as how many phones have the app installed, and nothing that identifies you.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Should the app ever need to collect anything, this page will say what it collects and why before any version that does is released.
